"NIA officials have been granted access to the terrorist (Jundal) for carrying out certain investigation procedures," Delhi Police informed chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) Vinod Yadav, who is handling the NIA’s plea for Jundal's custody.

The NIA clarified that the joint interrogation did not relate to a recent FIR registered by it against Jundal and another operative for allegedly amassing explosives to carry out blasts across the country.

The CMM adjourned the hearing to July 5, saying, "The special cell may seek extension of Jundal's custody tomorrow. So, I will decide your application tomorrow.” The court would also hear an application of the Mumbai Police to seek custody of Jundal on Thursday.
