The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested three Nigerians who had come to the city as medical tourists and were allegedly running an international credit card cloning racket.

The police recovered seven fake credit cards from their possession and have recovered a laptop containing the data of about 200 international credit cards.

The accused have been identified as Abayomi Anifowoshe (30), Evans Amathila Imadonmwinyi (32) and Bawwa (29).

The police had received a complaint from HDFC Bank on June 30 that fake credit cards were being used on their Electronic Data Capturing (EDC) machine at a shop in South Extension market.

“During interrogation they revealed they had been using fake credit cards to shop in Delhi. We even recovered seven mobile phones from their possession. One of the accused was carrying information about data of six international credit cards in the inbox of his mobile phone,” said A.S. Cheema, DCP (Crime).

The men had been shopping with the fake international credit cards in markets like South Extension, Priya complex, Rajouri Garden and Janakpuri. A case of cheating has been registered and the accused were arrested.
