An ACP was crushed under the wheels of a water canon vehicle which was trying to control unruly protesters led by the Deputy Speaker.

“It is expedient in public interest to withdraw the prosecution against all the accused and hence, all the accused are acquitted of charges framed against them,” Additional Sessions Judge S.K. Sarvaria said.

The court allowed the plea of additional public prosecutor S.K. Dass that the accused leader and 10 others were holding a protest march in public interest and no criminal motive for the offence could be imputed on them.
