Supply was restored around 3 pm on Wednesday.
Power supply to the Sainik Colony residence of Haryana Minister for Power Mahindra Pratap Singh and his Bhadkal assembly constituency was also affected.
Sources said an 11 KV transformer at Sainik Colony caught fire due to which a major part of city plunged into darkness on Tuesday evening.
The areas affected were SGM Nagar, Sainik Colony, NH4, Bhadkhal, BK Hospital, ESI area, etc.
“The incover box caught fire after the transformer burst at Sainik Colony sub-station at 6.50 p.m. on Tuesday,” senior ower engineer Hansraj said, adding, “power supply was completely restored by 3.25 p.m. on Wednesday.”
