A 21-year-old nursing student at Lady Hardinge Medical College allegedly hanged herself to death with her stole, on Saturday.

The deceased, a native of Manipur, reportedly committed suicide because she had a fight with her boyfriend.
The police said Mercedes Khomdram was depressed after her boyfriend did not meet her.
The police said Khomdram left a suicide note stating that she was responsible for her death and ‘she was committing suicide because she could not live without him (her boyfriend)’.
According to police, the incident was reported around 9.30 am on Saturday.
Khomdram was not opening the door of her hostel room — number 36 — at Lady Hardinge Medical College. Her classmates had gone to her room, as they all had to go for their class.
“When they knocked, she did not reply or open the door. The classmates informed the warden and the door was broken open. Khomdram was found hanging from the ceiling with her stole,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.
Khomdram belonged to Imphal, where her family has been informed.
