When the President of the United States of America came visiting, what did Prime Minister Manmohan Singh serve at the 7 Race Course Road banquet?

The DumPukht banquet for the occasion was catered by ITC Maurya Sheraton which held extensive consultations with government officials before it finalised the menu.

The key favourite was apparently the Murgh Yakhni Pulao. Other items on the menu included a mawa potli and the Kesari Phirnee.

For vegetarian guests the catering included Motia Pulao (Motia being the pearls of cottage cheese flavoured with jasmine and saffron) and Guchchi or the Black mushroom.

Obama for his part wrote in the hotel’s guest book his “thanks for the wonderful hospitality”.

The hotel also introduced a new special platter named the Signature Obama Menu. That includes Tandoori Jhinga, Mahi Tikka, Murgh Boti Bukhara and Sikandari Raan. The fish and the chicken were both new additions. It goes without saying that US Prez would have sampled the Dal Bukhara too.
