Officials face action for anomaly in selections

Serious irregularities were found in appointment of primary school teachers on contract basis in this zone. Shanti Soren, Deputy Education Officer, and assistant education officer of Shahdara (North) Zone Kanta Kumar have been placed under suspension with immediate effect.

The two have been accused of taking applications and giving appointment letters to candidates even after the last day to submit the forms was over. The last date for submission of applications was 16 June.

However, Kanta Kumar, who was in charge of Deputy education officer on June 17, received 902 applications on 17 June also. The officials incharge also scrutinised applications received on 17 June and issued appointment letters to some candidates.
