Ghaziabad police have arrested Mohammed Waliuddin after several teams were dispatched to nab him and two others who had fled after pouring concentrated-acid on 22-year-old school principal named Shaheen on Tuesday morning.

“The man has accepted his involvement in the crime. We have lodged a case against him and produced him before a Ghaziabad court,” SP (City) Rahul Yadvendu said.

“I wanted to marry her but she turned me down. On Tuesday, I went to her school and poured acid on her. If she doesn't marry me, I can't see her marrying anyone else,” an unrepentant Waliuddin said.

Shaheen suffered around 30 per cent burns over her face and chest and her condition is still critical at GTB Hospital in Delhi.
