“The brother of the six-year-old girl, who tested positive on Friday has also been found to have swine flu. They arrived in Hyderabad on June 9, but had no symptoms (of the flu),” said Dr Shiv Lal, director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases.

In a separate case, Beas MLA Manjinder Singh Kang, who had sent a second sample for testing on Friday after the first one did not show clear results, has tested negative.

In Chennai, a family of five, including a six-month-old, was quarantined at the airport with swine flu symptoms after they arrived from the US in the early hours on Saturday.

Airport officials said Coimbatore-based Muralitharan and his family were found to be suffering from cough, cold and fever.
