Over 200 Indian nationals have been jailed in Kuwait, including some convicted for petty offences, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi said in a written reply that 175 Indian prisoners were languishing in central jail of Kuwait while 61 others are serving jail terms in the public jail of Kuwait.
"The Embassy has also informed about three cases of deaths of Indian nationals in Kuwait jails," he said, adding one Indian prisoner died in Oman in 2007, while another died in 2008.
