Prez condoles death of Vijay Tendulkar

President Pratibha Patil condoles the death of leading marathi playwright, saying that he had helped Marathi and all of Indian theatre attain global recognition.

President Pratibha Patil on Monday condoled the death of leading playwright Vijay Tendulkar, saying that he had helped Marathi and all of Indian theatre attain recognition at the international level.

"Vijay Tendulkar was not only an acknowledged figure in Indian literature but also helped Marathi and all of Indian theatre attain recognition at the international level," Patil said in her condolence message.

The President also said that his work expressed the realities of our times.
