Probe ordered into death of patient in ICU during power cut

Delhi Government on Wednesday ordered a probe into the death of an elderly patient at the ICU of a city hospital reportedly due to power failure.

Delhi Government on Wednesday ordered a probe into the death of an elderly patient at the ICU of a city hospital reportedly due to power failure.

Health Minister Kiran Walia constituted a three-member committee to find out details of the incident that had taken place at the government-run G B Pant hospital and give its report within seven days.

74-year-old Sharda Gaur, who was admitted to the ICU in the hospital died last week reportedly as her ventilator could not be operated for about 45 minutes due to a power failure.

Walia said that government will take stringent action against those found responsible for the incident.
