Punished for power theft
The Special Court of Electricity at Karkardooma has convicted a resident of east Delhi for power theft and has levied upon him a civil liability of Rs 3.62 lakh.

The Special Court of Electricity at Karkardooma has convicted a resident of east Delhi for power theft and has levied upon him a civil liability of Rs 3.62 lakh.
"Not only has the resident been sentenced to one-year simple imprisonment, but he has to pay Rs 3.62 lakh too. The resident has been convicted by the special court of electricity for stealing 11.5 KW of electricity for industrial purposes," said a BSES spokesperson. The order was announced in an open court on January 24.
