Several parts of the city witnessed light rain and thunderstorms accompanied by squall, that brought down temperatures.

“The wind speed reached 50 kmph and the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is moderate at 60 per cent,” said a Met department official.

But the rest of the week will be warmer with the occasional overcast sky. Maximum temperatures will range between 34 to 36 degrees and the minimum will settle at 23 degrees.

But Delhiites are content with intermittent spells of rainfall. “The summer had begun on an oppressive note. We hope it continues this way for the better part of summer,” said Mamta Mehra of Lajpat Nagar.
