With the Capital suddenly witnessing overcast skies and a spell of thunderstorm and light rainfall, the maximum temperature stood at 36 degrees celsius while the minimum stood at 24 degrees celsius.

“It is such a relief to have even a light spell of rainfall because the heat is becoming unbearable. It’s only the start of summer and we hope this year it continues to rain occasionally till the winter sets in again,” said Nisha Ohri, a resident of Vasant Kunj.

An official at the Met department said the coming week would also see a fluctuation between partly cloudy and clear skies.

“While Saturday would see partly cloudy skies, on Sunday and Monday, the maximum temperatures would remain steady at 34 degrees on both days while the minimum temperature would fluctuate between 22 and 24 degrees,” he said.

However, Tuesday is likely to see another spell of thunderstorm and rain, as per the Met department’s prediction.

“Temperatures will remain like it was throughout the week. It will hover around 34 degrees maximum and 22 degrees minimum, but will be cooler because of the spell of rainfall,” the weatherman said.
