"Skies will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and squall later during the day," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees, the official said adding that the maximum temperature was expected to hover around 38.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below average for this time of the season.

The humidity level was 52 per cent in the morning.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature was 38 degrees and the minimum was 25.4 degrees, both three notches below average.
