She is out of danger, conscious, alert and all her health parameters are within normal, doctors said.

Given the nature of her injuries — which included a 200 ml cracked bottle of hair oil and three candles inserted inside her vagina — she was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences from Swami Dayanand Hospital on Friday.

The injuries were so acute that surgeons did an emergency colostomy — a procedure to create an opening in the abdomen wall to drain out stool from the large intestine — at 12.15 am last night under general anaesthesia to prevent infection in the genital area.

“The little girl is showing signs of recovery and is responding to the antibiotics. At present, her condition is stable and is conscious, alert and all her parameters are within normal limits. She is speaking to her parents,” said AIIMS medical superintendent Dr D K Sharma.

“She is recovering fast and continues to be under close observation and monitoring.”She is being examined by a team of eight specialist doctors from different departments at AIIMS

The doctor said a revaluation would be done on Sunday evening.
