Due to the three-day visit of Chinese premier Li Keqiang, both carriageways of Sardar Patel Marg will remain closed from Panchsheel Marg up to Dhaula Kuan till Monday afternoon. The restriction on movement of general traffic was imposed on Sunday afternoon.
Also, traffic movement on certain routes, including the C-Hexagon, Ring Road and Mathura Road, will be affected between 8.30am and 10.30am, said traffic police. They also advised motorists to take the Barapullah elevated road to travel from east to south.
Those using Ring Road from North to reach New Delhi and Central Delhi should use Geeta Colony flyover or Nishad Raj Marg, Netaji Subash Marg, JLN Marg and Minto Road. The Ring Road and Vande Matram Marg will remain open for traffic, including buses, said traffic police.
Meanwhile, on the direction of the Delhi Police, four Metro stations — Race Course, Udyog Bhavan, Central Secratariat and Khan Market — will remain closed from 8am to 10am on Monday.
“These stations will be shut for two hours and no passenger will be allowed to enter or exit the station. However, interchange facilities will remain available at Central Secretariat station between Line 2 and Line 6,” said a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson.
