A senior IPS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
The name of Safi Ahsan Rizvi, a 1989 batch IPS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, was cleared by the ministry.
The 42-year-old officer, who joined IPS after completing Masters' in Business Administration from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, is considered an ace sleuth in cracking economic related cases.
