On way to a warehouse to deliver a consignment of marbles from Noida, Dharamveer’s tempo hit a pothole at a busy crossing and accidentally bumped into a Hyundai Santro.
The Santro driver, identified as Mann, and his three friends got out of the car and asked Dharamveer to pay up.
“Dharamveer told him he was only a driver. Mann then asked for the marble slabs in return,” a senior police officer said.
Dharamveer stood near the tempo’s backdoor and prevented the accused from taking away the slabs forcibly.
“He was by Mann with a blunt weapon. Dharamveer was holding the lock of the backdoor with his hand. When he lost balance and fell, the slabs were let loose and all of them fell on him one by one, killing him at the spot,” said the officer. All the four accused are absconding.
