Robbers target family in Faridabad

Five of the members were critically injured.

The incident happened at Gowchi village under Mujesar police station when the family was sleeping.

Surajmal and his son Prakash were sleeping in the lawn, his wife Sonam and daughter-in-law Angoori were inside, other members were sleeping on the terrace.

A group of 10 to 12 criminals armed with lathis and iron rods scaled the wall of the house and started beating up the family members. Surajmal and his son Prakash were the first victims, followed by the women.

The robbers kept the injured family members hostage till they looted cash and jewellery.

The robbers fled with cash of Rs 1.50 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 3.50 lakh.

Neighbours rushed the injured members of the family to a private hospital.

"We have registered a case of dacoity and police teams have been formed to nab the robbers," SHO Mujesar police station Radhey Shyam said.

The injured are Surajmal, Prakash, Sona, Angoori and Rajeev.

None of the injured were in a position to speak due to the injuries inflicted on them.

A few days ago, a house was robbed by armed dacoits in Sector 19.
