Ruchika case will be revisted: Hooda
Under pressure to act, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday assured that the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case will be revisited.
Under pressure to act, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday assured that the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case will be revisited. He also hinted at the possibility of booking former Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore for abetment to suicide.

“After examining (the case) legally, I think it should be revisited …I am fully sympathising with the family (of Ruchika),” he said, a day after Law Minister Veerappa Moily said the case would be revisited.
Hooda’s remarks came after a meeting with CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat, Anand and Madhu Parkash, Ruchika’s family friend.
Apart from re-opening the case, they also demanded an independent probe into the alleged political patronage that Rathore enjoyed after registration of the case. “Whatever steps Haryana government has to take after legal constulations, we will take,” Hooda said.
The Haryana CM said he had given instructions to the DGP of the state to provide “full security” to Ruchika’s family.
Meanwhile, Parkash’s daughter, Aradhana, eyewitness in the molestation case said, “Taking away the medal of Rathore won’t be enough... we need a change in our system where a young girl is not subjected to such trauma. For that we need such cases to be dealt by fast track courts so that the victim gets justice within days and not months and years.”
