However the police are yet to make any headway in the case. Himanshu is the son of slain Ujjain professor H S Sabharwal. The police said they are still trying to find the motive behind the murder and have excluded no one from their suspect list.

On Thursday night, Singh was stabbed to death near Khalsa College in Delhi University’s North Campus. Singh was returning home after putting up posters on the campus for a candlelight vigil to protest against the recent acquittal of six ABVP activists in connection with Sabharwal’s murder three years ago.

Dadwal visited the crime spot near Khalsa College where Kumar’s body was found. Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range) Karnal Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagarpreet Hooda accompanied Dadwal.

Police had earlier declared a reward of Rs 50,000 to anyone providing information related to the case. The police have also roped in the Special Cell and the Crime Branch to coordinate with local police to crack the case.

“We have not reached any conclusion. We cannot say who is the suspect or who is not the suspect now. A probe is on,” said Karnal Singh. Himanshu was questioned for the second day on Saturday for three hours to ascertain the sequence of events.

Police had also questioned Pooja, a documentary filmmaker, and Saif a friend, who was with Himanshu and Parminder, on the night of the murder.

The victim’s brother Kailash Singh had earlier alleged that Himanshu was ‘hiding’ information.

“My brother had gone to Jabalpur to get some documents in connection with Professor Sabharwal’s case on July 16. After coming back from the trip, he was tense and very disturbed. I was shocked that Himanshu did not mention all these things in his statement to the police,” Kailash had said.

Working on other angles, police also suspect that Parwinder Singh’s body may have been dumped outside Khalsa College and he was killed at a different location.
