The apex court said that it would only examine issues of national concern arising out of the subject of solid waste management.

A bench headed by Chief Justice SH Kapadia said the Delhi High Court was the correct forum to decide the state government’s plea.

The court added it would examine the viability of national projects such as generation of energy from municipal wastes.
