SC notice to Bihar on missing girl case

The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Bihar government on a habeas corpus seeking direction to the state police to trace a teenage girl kidnapped from Muzaffarpur in September last. HT reports.

The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Bihar government on a habeas corpus seeking direction to the state police to trace a teenage girl kidnapped from Muzaffarpur in September last.

Alleging that there was law and order problem in the state, a group of Delhi University law students filed the petitions claiming the state police refused to act in the case.

The 12-year-old girl, Navaruna, has been missing from her house in Bihar since September 18, 2012. After a brief hearing, a bench asked the Centre and state to file their replies.
