Unidentified assailants robbed journalist of valuables at Mayur Vihar house.
A 28-year-old journalist, working with a private news channel, was attacked and robbed of cash and valuables worth over Rs 20,000 by two unidentified assailants at his house in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase I on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident took place at around 4pm when the journalist, Sushant Sinha, reached home and opened the main iron door of his house. Sinha, a senior police officer said, found the lock of the door broken and as soon as he went inside, two miscreants who were already present in the house overpowered him.

"The robbers first attacked Sinha with an iron rod and then tied his hands and legs with a rope. They threatened him with dire consequences and asked him to tell them about the place where the cash and valuables were kept. They took Rs 5,000 from his wallet and Rs 1,000 from an almirah. Besides, they also took Sinha's wrist watch and his mobile phone before disappearing," said the senior police officer.
After the miscreants fled, Sinha managed to come out of his house and raised an alarm.
"We received a call about the incident at around 4.30pm after which a police team was immediately sent to Sinha's house. A case of armed robbery had been registered at the Pandav Nagar police station. Efforts are on to nab the miscreants. The beat officer of the area has been placed under suspension for his negligent conduct," the senior officer added.
