Security for those providing information on Jagan assets

The CBI has decided to make arrangements for the security of witnesses who have given important inputs in its probe into the alleged disproportionate assets of YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy.

The agency will soon make a request to the court concerned in this regard.

"The accused in the case are very powerful. Some of the witnesses were scared after their names appeared in the media. We will request the court concerned to make arrangement for their security,” said a source who didn’t wish to be quoted.

The CBI is investigating the allegation that former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Jaganmohan Reddy’s father, extended benefits in the shape of land allotment, mineral rights, mining licence, SEZ rights, and permission for star hotels in Andhra Pradesh to individuals and corporates who, in turn, invested in the businesses of Jaganmohan Reddy at a very high premium.
