Senior finance ministry official commits suicide

A senior official of the finance ministry tonight allegedly committed suicide by jumping from his building in west Delhi area, police said.

The incident occurred at 11 pm when Santosh Kumar Prasad, who resides on the IInd floor of Bimal apartments, went to the seventh floor of the building and jumped, they said.

Prasad (56) was undergoing some treatment and was suffering from depression, they said, adding no suicide note was recovered from the place of the incident.

Exact reason of the suicide is not yet known, they said.

Police are also looking into the murder angle in the case. Further investigation is on, they said.
