Metropolitan magistrate Sandeep Garg, who convicted the woman under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, said, "Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the convict is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven days."

The provision of the ITP Act, under which the woman was convicted, provides six months jail term as maximum sentence.

The court took into account the facts that she confessed to the allegations and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Andhra Pradesh.

The woman, staying at a red light area in the Capital, was accused of making indecent gestures to a man in her bid to seduce him on July 28, 2007.
