Police said they nabbed notorious robber Satya Prakash alias Satte, and his gang members, involved in four recent robberies. “Wanted in 30 cases Satte has a reward of over Rs 25,000 on his head. They fired at the police with imported pistols,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal said.

They were planning to strike at a house in Green Park Extension’s N Block. Police intercepted six robbers in two cars before firing began at around 4 p.m.

The police first rammed an unmarked Scorpio car into the robbers’ Honda Accord. Cornered, Satte and his associates — Shakeel, Nadeem and Sonu — began shooting in an indiscriminate manner.

All four were injured in retaliatory fire and taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Of them, Sonu is critically injured.

Two other robbers escaped in a white Santro, police said. Afghan national Nadir and Harpal surrendered late on Monday, after visiting a TV studio in Noida and pleading innocence.
