Six fire engines were rushed to the hospital to battle the blaze. They brought the fire under control before it could cause any casualties or injuries.
A short circuit in an electric box is supposed to be the cause of the blaze, said police.
“It was a minor fire that lasted for no more than five minutes. The reasons of the fire is yet to be ascertained,'” said additional DCP (south) PS Khuswah.
Safdarjung Hospital is one of the biggest government hospitals in the capital.
