"We are opposed to the FDI in retail sector and we will force this government to withdraw the decision," Yadav told IBN-7 on the Teekhi Baat programme.

Yadav said his party would not oppose a resolution in this regard proposed by Trinamool Congress.

"We will not oppose it...We will support it...Our party may also bring a resolution against FDI," Yadav said.

He, however, said, "such a situation may not arise" as their party would force the government to withdraw the decision.

The SP chief was evasive on whether there would be mid-term polls or whether his party would withdraw support to the UPA. He, however, said his party was ready for mid-term polls if they happen.

Asked if Congress-led UPA would complete its full term, he said "it is for the government to see".

On CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat's suggestion that he should lead the opposition and form a government, he said he was grateful to Karat for saying so as the two were on the same plain on various issues.

Yadav said he has already talked to Left parties and they were together with SP on economic policies, especially the FDI in retail. He added TDP's Chandrababu Naidu was also on the same page.

Predicting that neither Congress nor BJP would come to power, he said he would be meeting leaders of other like-minded parties to bring them together.
