Speeding car kills two children in south Delhi

Two children are crushed to death and four sustained severe injuries when a speeding car hit them early on Monday in south Delhi.

The tragedy occurred at around 3 am when a speeding car hit six members of a family waiting for an auto rickshaw near the roadside in the Sangam Vihar locality. Police have arrested the driver.

All the six victims were rushed to the nearby All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences where the doctors declared three-year-old Ankit and his six-year-old sibling brought dead.

The injured, identified as Lal Chand, his wife Suman, his brother-in-law Sombir and his one-year-old son Annu, were reported to be in serious condition, police said.

"We have arrested the accused and are investigating the matter," a senior police official said.
