Spice trader shot dead in Ghaziabad

A businessman from Khari-Baoli in Delhi was shot dead near Suryanagar in Ghaziabad by two unidentified bikers late Saturday night. The victim was returning from Delhi, police said.

Sanjay Kumar, a spice trader, received one gun-shot injury and died on the way to the hospital. “He was returning with a child in his vehicle from Delhi and when he reached Suryanagar near Anand-Vihar border, two unidentified bikers on a red bike fire at him and fled,” said Circle Officer (IV) Rahul Srivastava.

Kumar was a resident of Jaipuria Sunrise Society in Indirapuram. His son, who was riding pillion, was not hurt in the attack.

“We have launched a man-hunt for the bikers and have ordered strict checking of the border areas,” the officer said.
