Steps to curb misuse of Tatkal tickets

Several steps have been taken to check the misuse of Tatkal train tickets, Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi informed the Rajya Sabha today.

Several steps have been taken to check the misuse of Tatkal train tickets, railway minister Dinesh Trivedi informed the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

Now, agents cannot book tickets between 8 am to 9 am, that is, within an hour of the opening of the counter, he said during Question Hour.

He said access to Tatkal booking on all days and normal bookings on normal days of reservation through e-tickets by the travel agents has been disabled between 8 am and 9 am.

Besides, an agent cannot book more than two tickets in a day and more than 10 tickets a month on the same PNR, he said.

Only 25% of refund is allowed on tickets cancelled within 24 hours to prevent misuse while there is no refund after 24 hours, he added.
