The two hospitals, Rajiv Gandhi Super-specialty and Janakpuri Super-specialty, have been in the making for years and were supposed to be launched under the public-private-partnership (PPP) model.

But the state government had to cancel the plan for want of quality applications.

The city already has four government-run super-specialty hospitals and more than 35 major hospitals. The two hospitals have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 160 crore and will have 1000 beds.
