The Haryana Medical Council (HMC) has decided to withdraw their registration for five years.

Hindustan Times had reported the verdict on February 5.

The doctors who were found guilty are Dr JL Mahajan, Dr K K Saraswat, MS Talekar, DB Lal, and PB Lal.

District appropriate authority Dr Praveen Garg said the director of state general health services has written to the medical council to remove the names of the tainted doctors from its register for five years.

“This is a departmental action,” said Garg. He said the Medical Council of India (MCI) will also be requested to cancel their registration, if they had registered with the body.

The doctors have been given rigorous imprisonment for three years with a fine of Rs 1,000

each. Garg also informed that the MCI may write to all other medical councils in various states not to do the same.
