Talwars have challenged the May 21 order of the Allahadbad High Court rejecting their plea. The couple's appeal was mentioned before a vacation bench headed by Justice BS Chauhan, which fixed May 28 to hear the plea.

Kumar was the supervising officer of CBI's first team that had taken over the double-murder case's investigation from the UP police. It had given a clean chit to the dentist couple.
