Tax evaders will now have to think twice before slipping away from paying tax. The enforcement branch of the department of trade and taxes has launched an intensive crackdown on evaders. Raids had been conducted over the last seven days, by way of which the team found cash variation of Rs 22 lakhs against the importers and other dealers of different trades. It was found that dealers, who are liable for registration under the DVAT (Delhi Value Added Tax) Act, have not been registered.
