“The incident took place in Khodha area on August 18 when the 15-year-old boy beat his father to death with a stick in a fit of rage after the man in inebriated condition started hitting his wife,” Indirapuram Police Station in-charge Sunil Kumar said.

The son was arrested today and sent to juvenile home, he said.

Doctor kills self

Ghaziabad: A government doctor committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence near here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday at Radha Puri area in Hapur city, they said. Doctor Shyam Mohan was posted at a primary health centre in Meerut district’s Kharkhoda town.

The reason behind the man taking the extreme step is not yet known, police said.
