What prompted the police to reverse the flow of traffic on RTR flyover?

During a traffic study, we found the volume of traffic from Munirka to airport was double compared with the traffic coming from the airport (to which the flyover catered). The single carriageway was being underutilised.

Despite initiating the ‘reverse flow’ of traffic on RTR flyover, congestion hasn’t completely eased.

It used to take 45 minutes to cross the stretch. The situation is much better now. Also, the remaining congestion is on the other side and traffic coming from Munirka and headed towards airport doesn’t have to wait for more than 15 minutes.

But there still are traffic snarls at connecting roads on the other side of the single carriageway flyover.

Commuters using RTR Marg and going towards airport still have to wait and there is no relief for them yet. But people coming from Vasant Vihar don’t have to wait for long now.
