Three arrested for stabbing TV cameraman

Three men who allegedly robbed and grievously injured a cameraman of a Hindi news channel last month have been arrested, say the police.

Three men who allegedly robbed and grievously injured a cameraman of a Hindi news channel last month have been arrested, police said on Thursday.

The three - Santosh, 20, Hemant Prasad, 22 and Udai Singh, 18, - were arrested from Alipur area in northwest Delhi late on Wednesday evening. They had allegedly stabbed and robbed Aaj Tak cameraman Karanveer Singh in May. They were also involved in several other robbery cases, police said.

In his police complaint, Karanveer had said that three people stabbed him on the face, chest, back and arms and robbed him while he was on way to his east Delhi residence.

"We have arrested the trio and are investigating their involvement in similar cases," Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Aggarwal said.

Police said that three knives and two cell phones were recovered from the men.
