The victim, identified as Amit, was brought to the police station on June 26 following a call made to the police control room by her mother who had claimed that his son was fighting with other family members.

Amit’s family are now alleging that he was beaten up in the lock-up. A case under section 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide) of IPC has already been registered at the Khayala police station.

A Delhi police sub-inspector and a constable who had attended the call and had brought the victim to the police station have been placed under suspension, V Renganathan, additional CP (west), said. “We have requested the SDM for forming a board of doctors to conduct the post-mortem examination of the victim at the DDU Hospital,” said Renganathan.
