Airport-bound passengers are in for a tough time during the Commonwealth Games.

Anticipating massive traffic jam on dedicated lane leading towards Indira Gandhi International airport between October 7 and 16, the Delhi traffic police have suggested people leave home a few hours before scheduled departure.
“Otherwise, you might miss the flight,” said a senior traffic officer.
From October 7, the traffic police are going to enforce restrictions on vehicular movement on dedicated Games lane leading towards airport.
Ajay Chadha, special CP (Traffic), said, “We were actually relieved when the Airport Express Line was scheduled to open. But we are now anticipating massive traffic crawl on the stretch from Pancsheel Marg to the airport as one lane of the stretch will be reserved from October 7, when the athletes will start returning.”
However, people would heave a sigh of relief on Monday when the traffic police are planning to ease the 12-hour restrictions on the city-bound Games lane from airport as the arrival of athletes will reduce after Sunday.
The traffic police said from Monday athletes would be escorted by pilot cars so that people do not face much trouble on the roads.
