Addressing the media on Friday on traffic arrangements planned for Independence Day, Joint CP (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said this time traffic movement through Delhi's borders would be easier than previous years as Delhi Traffic Police have planned strategic checks.

Besides, if the Joint CP is to be believed, invincible ground-to-air security machinery is being mounted in the city with special emphasis on areas near the Red Fort from where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will unfold the Tricolour and address the nation.

"Highly structured security arrangements are made. Personnel from Delhi Police and paramilitary forces will be deployed for security," he said.

According to Garg, informative signage will be displayed for the guidance of vehicular traffic destined for the Red Fort function at all important junctions. But some arterial roads such as Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk, will be closed for general traffic.
