The traffic moved at a snail's pace on Thursday after rain lashed the Capital city. Major traffic jams were reported from various parts of the city, including ITO, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, South Extension and Dhaula Kuan, following intermittent rain.

The traffic police deployed maximum number of personnel in these areas to handle the situation.

As soon as the downpour began there were reports of jams from various areas in South Delhi, Connaught Place and New Delhi District.

"We had deployed personnel in different areas of the city. We managed to bring the situation back to normal by late afternoon," said a senior police officer.

The police also diverted the traffic at some places to ease off the situation.
