Train runs over 1-yr-old, mother

A one-year-old boy, his mother and a neighbour were run over by a train in north Delhi on Saturday evening, police said. The toddler had accidentally crossed over to the railway line while playing.

The incident was reported around 7 pm on Saturday at the railway lines near the Indra Vihar slum cluster in north Delhi. Police said the toddler’s mother and one of the neighbours ran towards the railway lines to save him. Police said the accident was caused by an EMU train on its way to Rewari in Haryana.

Police said all the inured were declared dead at a nearby hospital. Further investigations into the incident are on, police said.
