Troop reduction offer on cards?

During the visit of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, New Delhi is expecting an offer from the neighbour that both sides reduce their troops along the LoC.

Top government sources claimed, Pakistan may point out that troops can be added to its already-heavy military engagement in curbing terrorism in the Af-Pak border, if the force level in Kashmir is slashed from both ends.

While it may also assure that its army won’t support infiltration bid into Kashmir, a section of the Indian establishment, however, remains skeptical to this offer ahead of summer — the peak season of infiltration.
