Krishna conveyed the message when Tharoor, the MoS for external affairs, came to his residence to explain his posting on social networking site Twitter that questioned the new guidelines.

The home ministry introduced the guidelines on November 4, stipulating a two-month gap between two visits by a foreigner with a long-term Indian tourist visa.

“The broad policy parameters are dictated, decided by the minister in-charge of external affairs of this country and everyone will have to fall on the same page,” Krishna said when asked if Tharoor and the ministry were on the same page on the visa issue.

Krishna added that there is a method to “sort out” issues and was sure that Tharoor “understands” that.
