Two arrested for drugging victims

Two brothers belonging to the dreaded 'Jahar Khurani Gang', which specialises in drugging potential victims before robbing them, were arrested in northwest Delhi, police said on Thursday.

Identified as Madan Lal Arora, 52, and his younger brother Ashok,46, five cases have been solved with their arrest and five Innova vehicles have been recovered from them, said P. Karunakaran, deputy commissioner of police (northwest).

"On September 16, a passenger approached the Jaswinder Tour and Taxi Services stand located in Pitampura and asked for an Innova Taxi to commute to Punjabi Bagh," said DCP Karunakaran.

"The owner of the said taxi stand, Jaswinder, had left with the passenger but was later found unconscious near the Central School in, Pitampura and his Innova car was missing," he said.

"Investigation revealed that similar cases had been reported from several other areas . Technical surveillance was carried out which enabled us to track and nab the brothers from Mongolpuri," Karunakaran said.
